In the first phase of the Lekki Port project in Nigeria in 2022, our company is honored to undertake the design and production of the project's signboard, adding a unique visual identity to this major international cooperation project. As a fruitful project under the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, Lekki Port not only marks the completion of the largest deep-water port in West Africa, but also demonstrates a model of cooperation between China and France in third-party markets.
Nigeria's Lekki Port is located more than 60 kilometers east of the economic center of Lagos. It is led by China Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. and jointly invested and developed by Singapore's Tolaram Group, the Nigerian Ports Authority and the Lagos State Government. The total investment of the project reaches US$1.044 billion and is expected to directly and indirectly provide approximately 170,000 local jobs and significantly promote local economic and social development.
As a company participating in the project, our company was responsible for the production and installation of signboards. These signboards not only functionally met the instruction and safety needs of the project, but also reflected the internationality and modernity of the project in design. Our team worked closely with all parties involved in the project to ensure that the design of the signage not only complied with international standards, but also incorporated elements of local culture.
At the completion ceremony, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Cui Jianchun emphasized the importance of the project to the "One Belt, One Road" initiative and expressed his pride in Chinese enterprises going global. Lekki Port will not only become the maritime logistics center of Nigeria and even West Africa, but will also greatly enhance the economic potential and container handling capacity of the region.
The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwulu, expressed his deep gratitude to the Chinese government and participating enterprises for their support, and specifically mentioned the high quality and modernization level demonstrated by the Lekki Port project, which is what our company is committed to quality standards pursued.
